OVERVIEW

Our Diabetes Defenders program is tailored specifically for individuals suffering from Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). These sessions are crafted to help manage blood sugar levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and enhance overall health. Our team of EPs employs evidence-based exercise interventions to combat the effects of diabetes, promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Capacity: Minimum 8 people, maximum 12


Target Conditions:

  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
  • Obesity
  • Hypertension
  • Metabolic Syndrome

Program Components:

  • Aerobic Exercise: Activities like walking, cycling, and swimming to boost cardiovascular health and aid in weight management.
  • Resistance Training: Strength-building exercises to increase muscle mass and improve glucose metabolism.
  • Flexibility and Balance: Exercises to enhance mobility and reduce the risk of falls.
  • Education and Support: Informative sessions on nutrition, lifestyle changes, and diabetes management strategies.

Educational Content:

  • Blood Sugar Management: Techniques for monitoring and managing blood glucose levels through exercise and diet.
  • Nutrition Education: Understanding the role of diet in diabetes management and how to make healthier food choices.
  • Exercise and Insulin Sensitivity: The impact of different types of exercise on insulin sensitivity and overall glucose control.

Tracking Journal:

  • Blood Glucose Levels: Record pre- and post-exercise blood glucose readings.
  • Blood Pressure and Heart Rate: Monitor changes in blood pressure and heart rate during and after exercise.
  • Exercise Log: Track types of exercise performed, duration, and intensity.
  • Symptoms and Feedback: Document any symptoms experienced and participant feedback for program adjustments.
